Gregory’s Magic Marker
When Universal Press were looking for ideas to drive Mothers’ Day sales for their product, Gregory’s Street Directory, they called on us.
The client’s primary
objectives were to;
- Sell more street directories
- Draw attention to the product at the point of sale
- Reward buyers with a free gift
Research shows that consumers are motivated by anything FREE.
The product we recommended was an erasable highlighter pen packaged on a card and shrink-wrapped to the cover. The marker suited street directories because buyers, particularly women according to research, wanted to plot their route without damaging their directory.
As a result of this
promotion sales increased in all states. The state that performed best recorded
a 300% increase with all objectives exceeding the client’s expectations.
